The need for energy coverage of a building, especially in the current energy crisis period, is immediate and imperative.

The use of natural sources of lighting, heating, cooling, shading and ventilation, as well as the creation of a "shell", which allows thermal and visual comfort, is essential.

The correct orientation of the building, the selection and placement of suitable openings and frames, the selection of construction materials according to the needs arising in each climate, are some of the basic principles of Bioclimatic design, which the architect is called upon to design and apply, so that to create a new building, as far as possible, energy independent, and at the same time shielded from adverse weather conditions.

In the long term, in addition to the positive ecological/environmental impact offered by a building with passive solutions for lighting, heating, cooling, shading and ventilation, there is also a serious impact in reducing the costs for energy coverage of the building.
